Requirements: Candidates must hold a valid Maine driver’s license, be at least 21 years of age, and hold a high school diploma, or GED equivalent. Candidates who have made the final selection may be required to successfully complete the physical agility test (MCJA Standard) and must pass a thorough background investigation, which includes a polygraph, psychological, and financial examination. Public Works Department- Full-Time Diesel Mechanic

The City Of Calais is currently accepting applications for a Diesel Mechanic in the Public Works Department. Preference given to applicant with experience in the operation of heavy motorized equipment including snow plowing and sanding.  Must  possess at least a high school diploma or its equivalent, a valid State Of Maine class B drivers license, and have physical strength and agility sufficient for performing the duties of the job. This is a skilled and unskilled manual position in the operation of heavy trucks and related automotive equipment. (3) Full-Time Paramedics and Part- Time and On Call Firefighter-EMT’s 

Calais Fire-EMS is seeking (3) full-time paramedics. Experience and training as a firefighter would be beneficial. Calais Fire-EMS offers a competitive wage.

Calais Fire-EMS is also looking for “on call” Firefighter-EMT’s. We offer free training for the job. We have all the proper equipment to make the job as safe as possible. If you have the desire to help your neighbor, this is the job for you.
